Setup Amazon Associates

I wanted to setup an Amazon Associates account as another possible revenue source.

The setup was straightforward though I used a non-personal email address to keep my personal Amazon account separate.

The first thing I learned was how to create a product link. When you are logged into Amazon, a new toolbar on the website is visible. If you click on the “Link to this page” button, it creates the necessary HTML text. I like the text-only to put in blog posts.

The next thing I explored were widgets. I created a couple of Deals Widgets for the blog. I also created a My Favorites and added a couple of products. I also added that to the blog. I just used a WordPress text widget and pasted the HTML text from Amazon. It was all very easy.
