MediaWiki and Google Adsense

I wanted to add some Google Adsense ads to my article wiki. I did some research and found the following articles:

I was thinking the extension option should be good but it sounded like a plugin for WordPress. But, then the description of editing a skin sounded good to. I decided to go with the editing because it would give me the most control over ad placement.

I followed the description but didn’t see any change. It dawned on to check the skin name and the default was “Vector”. Once I started making changes in the Vector.php. the ads showed up fine. I did some tweaks to placement and everything was great.
