ManageWP is a great WordPress management solution.  The free version allows for managing plugin and theme upgrades and some manual features but the premium add-ons expand on the management features.  Here is a list and some personal comments.

    • The free version creates a watermarked activity report
    • The premium version allows for rebranding, automatically sent and emailing from your own email account.
  • Security
    • The free version runs an on demand check
    • The premium version allows for scheduled checks and email notifications
  • Backups
    • The free version does a month backup
    • The premium version does daily backups and on demand backups.  It will also backup to other sources.  You can also clone and migrate a website and access the Template builder.  You can finally download a backup archive.

Here are the steps to configure the Security add-on:

  • Click Activate Security Check
    • Select Activate under Premium
    • Enter credit card info
  • Scheduling
    • Set to Daily

Here are the steps to configure the Backups add-on:

  • Click Activate Backups
    • Select Activate under Premium
  • Settings
    • Backup Schedule
      • Daily
      • Start Time
    • Upload to external destination
      • Click to link
        • OneDrive
        • Login and give access
      • Check – enable upload to external destination
        • Upload frequency – weekly
        • Weekday – Sunday
        • Specific number of uploads – 5
        • Save settings

Once Premium Backup is enable, the scheduled updated for Plugins and Themes can enabled.  Here are the steps:

  • Check – perform Safe Update
  • Check – With Rollback to previous version (requires FTP info)
