There are a number of social media networks including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and LinkedIn.  You should create accounts on all of them to reserve your business name.  But, which social media networks should you actively participate on?

First, you should think about your target audience.  Does a specific social media network match your target audience.  For example, if you market to other businesses, LinkedIn might be a better social network to reach other business professionals.

Second, do your services or products work well with images?  If not, a social media network like Instagram might be more difficult to figure out the right type of image-based content to post.

In summary, you should be on the social media that matches your target audience and that you can create compelling content for.
